Roisin Murphy headlines at Big Weekend

Don’t get overpowered by the news but one of the UK's finest female artists Roisin Murphy is singing it back for Manchester Pride’s 18th Birthday celebration. Headlining the main stage on Sunday 24th August, this girl touched with genius will add a touch of true class to proceedings. The former front woman of Moloko and now successful solo artist, Roisin Murphy will undoubtedly be one of the weekend’s highlights.

Jackie Crozier, festival manager of Manchester Pride, said: “We’re so pleased to be adding yet another iconic artist to our fantastic line up. Roisin is such an amazing entertainer with a beautiful voice. Her funky performance will definitely be one to watch and I can’t wait.”

Other acts joining Murphy on the Sunday night line-up include Abba tribute band Bjorn Again, electro band Client and DJ Jeff Smith. Manchester Pride will also see performances from Boy George, Sophie Ellis Bextor, Alphabeat, Heather Small, Natasha Hamilton, 4 Poofs & a Piano, K-Klass, and Rowetta.

The Big Weekend takes place from Friday 22nd until Monday 25th August. Tickets are £17.50 and can be booked on-line at www.manchesterpride.com
