Clubbers across the globe can’t fail to notice a certain, how do we put it, coercing going on right now? DJ’s from every walk of genre, every groove and every continent are on the campaign trail as voting for DJ Magazine’s annual Top 100 DJ Poll kicks off this month. Your DJ needs you.

2007 saw 345,000 people from over 220 different countries vote for their favourite spinner. The winner, Holland's Armin Van Buuren, settled well into his role of top DJ and saw the continuing dominance of trance in the poll. But house, breaks, beats and techno rode high too with David Guetta, Fedde Le Grand and Pryda man Eric Prydz scoring high. Interestingly only two female DJ's, Lisa Lashes and Magda featured in 2007 results whilst out gay DJ Offer Nissim from Israel came 56th. (Is it time for a Vote Pink campaign we ask?)

With a place in the Top 100 practically guaranteeing a DJ work for the following twelve months competition has always been fierce and this year looks no different as Dj Magazine is already reporting being swamped with votes.
